I don’t know about you but I get mildly irritated whenever I log into NetSuite, and for no obvious reason, the main NetSuite menu bar has lost its color, making navigation harder!
I’m not exactly sure why this happens but I certainly experience it once every few months. Interestingly, in almost all instances, this issue is limited to one environment or role. For instance, for the same account, the menu bar in my Sandbox account could become transparent while the same role in the Production environment is unaffected, or vice versa.
Here are a few options to address this issue (in the order I’ll try them):
- Execute CTRL + F5 (or CMD + R on Mac) to trigger a forced refresh (thanks to Asaf Yadigar and Lee Hopper for pointing this out!).
- Change your color theme as illustrated below (also documented in Answer ID: 72778).
- Do nothing or temporarily switch to another browser or incognito mode; typically, the issue “automagically” resolves itself after a few days, don’t ask me why!
- Clear your browser’s cache/cookies. If all fails, this might be your last resort.
It does not matter which color scheme you choose, as long as you select a different one than the currently active one. Also, if, like me, you’re particular about your color themes, all you need to do is wait a few days and then revert back to your original color theme which by then should be working fine again.
I hope this helps you the next time your NetSuite menu bar becomes transparent.
